Accountability is paramount in delegation. If the project goes wrong, ask instead of tell, get the employee to explain the why, how, what, why of it instead of you chewing them out. They will be more self-correcting from now on.

Offering a “reward” when delegating can be a two edge sword. Never give a raise/reward before the end results are proven. This fosters “entitlement” that has little value versus “accomplishment” which has life long outcomes.
